Monday
June 30th 2008.

On Monday 30th June at 7.30 pm The Charity Club 30 of its supporters and of course our Bertram met at the Jometien Boathouse to share a meal, drink catch up on things, and of course celebrate our 4th Birthday!

After the meal we were entertained by the ALL NEW ELVIS….Arthur!

Usually on the Club’s birthday, we don’t have a raffle or an auction, but this year Eileen and Tom approached the club and told them about the school project they have running to re-build a school in Yasathorn. We had four un-claimed prizes from the Gala Dinner, so we gave them to Eileen to auction and said all the money raised that night she could have as a donation from the Charity Club.

The amount raised was 30,500 baht!

It was a good job that Ib was in Denmark as the Boathouse was pretty packed……. until Eileen got up and managed to clear the boathouse within a couple of minutes by uttering those magic words……
We’re coming round the tables for donations!
Well done Eileen!

 A YEAR ON.
Since 1st July last year YOU have helped raised an

842,320 baht!
We have made two donations to the Jaidee Appeal for the Children with HIV/AIDS.

The Free Masons, who split their donation into two for two charities that they are supporting the Jaidee Appeal and an Orphanage in Chaing Mai.

We then bought 20 Children’s wheelchairs for Able The Disabled in Pattaya.

We are also providing food parcels every 3 months to families in Issan who are in desperate need and the Children with eating difficulties are still getting the special foods they require.

We have  repaired a school roof in Issan which was leaking and causing problems.

We have provided 53yr old Chon Tiengtau with a pair of prosthesis leg, a few pairs of socks and a very handsome pair of trainers!
This has now enabled him to find work.

The Young PR Ambassadors Project.

As you also know we provided a new roof for a house which then fell down due to the new roof! So we have spent 30,000 baht to rebuild the house, which is now in its early stages.

With some of the donations already received we have been able to pay for Poo Gan’s 1st operation on her arms which took place in the Buriram Hospital.

We also cleared the debt of the parents, this had been incurred when Poo Gan and her mother had to spent 4 weeks in isolation after she initionally fell into the fire.

We are also paying travel, medical and accomadation costs when the family come to Bangkok for hospital appointments and operations that Poo Gan will need in the coming months.

The donation of 200,000 baht has been ear marked for her future operations etc.

SINCE THE FORMATION OF THE CLUB IN JULY 2004

WE ARE PROUD TO INFORM YOU THAT YOU HAVE RAISED THE MAGNIFICENT TOTAL OF

2,731,462 BAHT!
