 Charity Gala Dinner
Grand Prize Draw & Auction

2007
Against all odds!

The Charity Club of Pattaya hosted its annual Charity Gala Dinner,

Grand Prize Prize Draw, and Auction On Saturday 15th December at

the Pinnacle Grand Resort & Spa Na Jomtien.

Two days before the dinner the alcohol ban was announced which sent

Christina into a panic! Luckily, due to the renovations at the
Dusit they had changed the venue this year to the Pinnacle Grand,
which as luck again would have it, is under the Sattahip district,
so the free flow wines and beers could do just that!

Test number two came when everything was set up and ready to
go when half an hour before the event the heavens opened,
producing 20 minutes of heavy rain!
G.M. Ingo Rauber (who had just that minute returned from a trip to
Europe), and his staff worked extremely hard to wipe everywhere

down and redress all the tables. Not to be beaten Christina kicked off

the high heels and helped with the wiping down!
Guests helped themselves to drinks until the tables were ready, within

an hour it was all back to the way it should have been, although

a couple of the prizes were a little soggy!
As luck would have it, that was the end of the rain and the rest of
the

evening went off without a hitch.
(Guests didn’t see Christina lying on a table with a cold cloth on her

head mumbling how badly she now needed a drink!)
The Charity Club supporters are a hardy lot and the hiccups

didn’t stop them enjoying the rest of the evening.

The Children from the Bangkok based Charity “The Family” were

the first up doing a 15-minute dance routine and singing some

traditional Christmas Carols to get everyone in the mood.
Then on came the best band in Pattaya POP’S PATTAYA ALL STARS,

luckily Pop and the boys didn't have to appear in snorkle and flippers!
They did a tremendous job entertaining the guests until

late into the evening.
The Pinnacle Grand’s chef provided an amazing buffet, which seemed

endless.
Of course, Bertram the Charity Club’s mascot bear who is loved

by all the Thai ladies attended sporting a fetching Burberry dickie

bow and cumber band!

For the third year, John Collingbourne of the Dok Rai Resort

preformed the auction. John  auctioning items from Deva Home Décor

Pattaya, Thai Décor Jomtien, The Big Banner Company, Six Senses

Resorts, Pinnacle Grand Resort and Spa, The Langham Hotel Hong

Kong, The Marco Polo Hotel Hong Kong, Musictravel Thailand and

the Dok Rai Resort.
The Charity Club’s Grand Prize Draw had so many prizes that

they had to do a silent raffle with the help of the Pinnacle staff
and guests,
only drawing the top three prizes live!
The winning prize numbers were display on a somewhat soggy
board with many of the prizes being collected by the happy winners

This year the club had nine PLATINUM SPONSORS who were; John Seymour from Northern Thai Reality, Vic King of the The Queen Victoria Inn, Martin Chappell of Expatriot Financial Services, John Richardson of UTS, Alan Bolton of Alan Bolton Property Consultants, Kevin Fisher of Cranes and Equipment Asia, Philip Coghlan (Tom) of C.S.P.
